Winter Market information

Vendor application

Important Rules for the Winter Market:

- If a vendor is a no-show for any Winter Market, they will lose their spot for the remainder of the season, and no refunds will be given. You must tell co-manager Brenda if you will not be attending (call, text, email, Messenger, or tell her in person).

- Vendors who have three, short notice cancellations (for any reason) will also lose their spot for the remainder of the season. Cancellations with less than 24 hour notice are considered short notice. No refunds will be given.

- We are completely full for the entire season, and have a long waiting list. So please give Brenda as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend.

- We have a vendor-only group on Facebook here if you'd like to join.

- Please wait until 6:30pm before packing up. If you need to arrive late or leave early, please let Brenda know ahead of time.

- Please remember that you are only allowed to bring items that were listed on your application, and were approved for. If you would like to bring new types of products, you must get approval first. FYI we are full for 3D printing, baked goods, sourdough, body care items, and more.

Vendor Set-up & Parking

- Vendor booths are approximately 8' x 8' inside the DeWitt Community Center. They will be market with blue tape (please remove the tape at the end of the night). If you have boundary questions, please find a manager before setting up.

- Please pay close attention to your booth boundaries, as we are often full. And make sure you set-up in the correct spot. Ask if you are unsure.

- You can arrive anytime after 1:15pm to set-up, but try to be ready by 3:20pm or so, if possible. We don't encourage early shopping, but we also don't turn shoppers away.

- We provide chairs. Each vendor can borrow 1 table - either a 6' round or 8' long table. There are plenty of round tables. You may not get an 8' table if you arrive late and we are full.

- We do not have electricity.

- Wifi password is: center4dewitt

- You can park close to unload, but please move your vehicle asap. Parking is available around the block, or in the church parking lot. Once the food trucks arrive, their spots need to be available immediately. See parking map shown below.

- There are restrooms located inside the Community Center.

- Please stay until 6:30pm before you pack up. Let us know if you need to leave early.

- Weather: Severe weather (snow/ice) may force us to cancel the market. We'll keep everyone updated if that happens.

At the end of every market, please...

- Pickup the blue tape on the floor.

- Return your table to the table stack in the large room. Only 4 tables (with chairs) remain in the small room. And 10 tables remain standing in the large room, pushed against the wall.

- Put your chairs away on the rack.

- Clean up any mess around your booth - trash, spills, etc. There are no cleaning supplies or paper towels at the Community Center, so bring your own, if needed. Large trash items and boxes should be taken directly to the dumpster.

- We also need help vacuuming, and emptying all trash cans, please.

Vendor Fees

- Fees are $10 a day or $60 for the whole indoor season. Cash or check only. Make checks payable to the DeWitt Farmers Market. A manager will collect fees during the market.

Produce, Egg & Honey Vendors

- Signage: A "home grown" product is grown on your own ground and should be labeled as such. A "local" product comes from within a 100-mile radius and must be labeled with point of origin. A "commercial" product comes from outside the 100-mile radius, and must be clearly marked with point of origin. Talk to a manager if you have further questions or concerns.

Vendors with Baked Goods & Canned Goods

- Be sure to have everything labeled properly for the Cottage Food requirements (see below). If you have questions about labeling or anything else, please ask. Only items that are properly labeled will be allowed to be sold. Mary is always checking labels.

- If you are not licensed, you cannot sell anything that requires refrigeration. This includes cream cheese frosting, soft cheeses, anything with meat, custards, cheesecake, uncooked fruit, etc.

- If you are licensed, you need to keep temperature controlled items in coolers when necessary.

- Canned goods (including jam) also need to be properly labeled. PH testing is also required, along with canning records, which you need to bring to every market. Let Mary know if you have questions.
