Vendor information
Vendor Set-up & Parking
- Vendor booths are 10' x 10' on grass. Look for the orange markings on the sidewalk to find your booth (ignore all other markings). The orange dashes are the boundaries, with the number in the center. If you have boundary questions, please find a manager before setting up.
- Please pay close attention to your booth boundaries, as we are often full. And make sure you set-up in the correct spot. Please ask if you are unsure.
- You can arrive anytime after 1:15pm to set-up, but try to be ready by 3:15pm or so, if possible. We don't encourage early shopping, but we also don't turn shoppers away.
- Please bring your own table(s), chair(s), tent, and tent weights. Tents MUST be weighed down. Expect it to be windy. Tents are just optional, but shade is not guaranteed.
- We do not have electricity or wi-fi.
- You can park close to unload, but please move your vehicle asap. Parking is available across the street, or in the church parking lot. Once the food trucks arrive, their spots need to be available immediately. See parking map shown below.
- Closest restrooms: Hausbarn, Community Center, and the Library (open until 6pm).
- When setting up your booth, please leave a 3' or more buffer zone between your booth and the sidewalk, if possible. This will help with sidewalk congestion when we get busy. If there are trees or other obstacles in the way, don't worry about it.
- You are allowed to drive your vehicle on the grass if necessary, but only if the ground is hard, and you have a clear path. Do not drive through the playground area, and always watch for pedestrians.
- Please stay until 6:30pm before you pack up. Let us know if you need to leave early. Please leave if severe weather is on the way.
- Weather: The market is held rain or shine, hot or cold! The market is automatically cancelled if we get lightning or severe weather warnings during market time.
Vendor Fees
- Fees are $10 a day or $100 for the whole season. Cash or check only. Make checks payable to the DeWitt Farmers Market. A manager will collect fees during the market.
Produce, Egg & Honey Vendors
- Signage: A "home grown" product is grown on your own ground and should be labeled as such. A "local" product comes from within a 100-mile radius and must be labeled with point of origin. A "commercial" product comes from outside the 100-mile radius, and must be clearly marked with point of origin. Talk to a manager if you have further questions or concerns.
- FMNP: The Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) has started for Wic and Senior vouchers for produce and honey (seniors only). If you are interested in accepting these vouchers, contact a manager for an application if you haven't applied already. The only vendors that are eligible to accept these are Brenda, Ben, Meagan, Gary, Mollie, Steve, Dawn & Ron.
- PoP: The Power of Produce Club has started. These $2 vouchers can be used for fresh produce and/or eggs only.
- $2 DFM Produce Vouchers: we have $2 Market Bucks (yellow cards) that can only be used for fresh produce.
- Summer Lunchbox Vouchers: this program has started! The green produce vouchers are good for up to $5 worth of fresh produce. The orange vouchers are good for $4 worth of eggs.
Vendors with Baked Goods & Canned Goods
- Be sure to have everything labeled properly for the Cottage Food requirements (see below). If you have questions about labeling or anything else, please ask. Only items that are properly labeled will be allowed to be sold. Mary is always checking labels.
- If you are not licensed, you cannot sell anything that requires refrigeration. This includes cream cheese frosting, soft cheeses, anything with meat, custards, cheesecake, uncooked fruit, etc.
- If you are licensed, you need to keep temperature controlled items in coolers when necessary.
- Canned goods (including jam) also need to be properly labeled. PH testing is also required, along with canning records, which you need to bring to every market. Let Mary know if you have questions.
